nternational Macadamia Research and Development Center established in LincangYunnan. cn reported (reporter: Yang Shuyan), on July 27, with positively impetus under Lincang city government, International Macadamia Research and Development Center, co-launched by Yunnan Macadamia Industry Society, Australia Macadamia Society and South Africa Macadamia Growers Association, was formally established in Lincang, focusing on global elites, colleges and research institutes. It marks a significant step of Yunnan macadamia towards the world, which means the efficient integration of full industry chain technologies and talents in macadamia industry around the globe is firstly reached, laying a good industry chain foundation for creating a world-class macadamia industry. In the future, the center will carry out comprehensive cooperation with newly built State Key Laboratory of Nust Testing（Lincang） 

“30 years ago, seeds of Macadamia traveled across the world to Yunnan and then rooted into the earth of Lincang. 30 years later, World Macadamia Grown in China, China’s Macadamia Grown in Lincang, Yunnan,” said Chen Yuxiu, the head of Yunnan Macadamia Industry Society. The 8th International Macadamia Symposium is going to be hold in Lincang from 14th to 20th October, 2018, when experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and growers of Macadamia Family in the world will gather here to share achievements, look ahead and have a leading voice of macadamia industry to the world, following the same concept of “Green, Hope, Health and Sharing”.
It is known that Yunnan Macadamia Industry Society has played a vital role of bridge and bond for smoothly holding the 8th International Macadamia Symposium in Yunnan. Its 30-year accumulation and development makes it able to produce a voice to the world. Last year, Yunnan Macadamia Industry Society Specialists Committee was formally established. Based on the scientific achievements of expert members, it develops key and difficult technology projects to further improve technical service, promote technological upgrade and carry out active communication and cooperation with specialists abroad so as to help Yunnan macadamia industry catch up with and surpass advanced world levels by grasping and understanding the latest foreign research trends and achievements.
Industry’s rapid development is inseparable from scientific and technological support. Based on the strong specialists’ team of Yunnan Macadamia Industry Society Specialists Committee members, the first specialist pool members of International Macadamia Research and Development Center involve more than 30 outstanding specialists form full industry chain of global Macadamia. In future, Lincang government is going to provide center’s specialists with R&D platform and research grants, and research achievements would be shared to the world to supply powerful technical support for global macadamia industry.
Chen Yuxiu said that with the increasing promotion of international influence of International Macadamia Symposium and the help of significant International Macadamia Research and Development Center, the flourish of Yunnan macadamia industry, steadily expanded areas of international markets and active closer cooperation with international macadamia industry would step up communication and cooperation of macadamia industry at home and abroad and drive the internationalization, branding and marketization of local macadamia enterprises in Yunnan.
