According to the Agriculture Bureau of Lincang, in 2017 the macadamia nuts planting area in Lincang has reached 2.27 million mu , accounting for about 57% of total macadamia nuts planting areas in the world.

Relativity extensive pattern of planting, management and maintenance , mono-product modality, and the market chaos lacking of standardization have become impediments to the development of Yunnan macadamia industry.
