On the morning of June 15, 2018, the first joint conference of the hosts and organizers of the 8th International Macadamia Symposium was held at the Kunming office of Lincang City.

At the meeting, Liu Shaojun, Director of the Lincang City Forestry Bureau, reported on the advancement of preparations for the 8th International Macadamia Symposium. Afterwards, each host and organizer conducted exchanges and discussions on the progress of preparations for the 8th International Macadamia Symposium. In particular, they conducted in-depth research on issues concerning the communication and preparation of the conference between the organizers and contractors in the preparatory process of the current stage of the conference, and reached consensus on how to play a good implementation of the linkage mechanism.

Chen Yuxiu, President of Yunnan Macadamia Society, said that as one of the organizers of the 8th International Macadamia Symposium, the society will actively cooperate with and fully promote the preparatory work for the 8th International Macadamia Symposium and provide support for the smooth convening of the conference.

This joint meeting has further improved the construction of a long-term linkage mechanism for the sponsors and contractors, which is of great significance to the work arrangements and promotion of the conference. The organizers and contractors will perform their duties and cooperate with each other to provide a solid guarantee for the smooth convening of the 8th International Macadamia Symposium.

Zhao Guixiang, Deputy mayor of Lincang Municipal Government, Li Weiping, Director of the Department of Alteration of Production of the Provincial Forestry Department, Liu Haiqing, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, Yan Xinhua, Deputy Director of Yunnan Academy of Forestry, and Chen Yuxiu, President of the Yunnan Macadamia Society all attended this meeting.
