The Global Network Technology Conference (GNTC) will be opened on November 14-16, 2018 at Shangri-La Hotel in Nanjing, China.


Last year, over 2,500 attendees in the network communications industry participated in the unprecedented GNTC. This year, BII-CFIEC as the organizer will add a multiple of summits and hot workshops and invite more global top technical experts to the scene.


As the largest network technology event in China, it will set up 2 main sessions, 7 technical summits (including SDN, NFV, IPv6, 5G, Cloud, IoT & Edge Computing and Internet Infrastructure), a number of workshops (P4&Stratum, CORD, LF Networking, Network Test, etc.), covering all the hot spots of the new generation of network technologies, and all-round presenting the latest development of the industry and technology.


In this context, this GNTC conference will invite experts from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, network technology pioneers of countries, and selected experts of the Internet Hall of Fame to deliver speeches. In addition, the conference will collaborate with experts and contributors from Linux Foundation, ONF, MEF, APNIC, IPv6 Forum, OPNFV, ONAP, 3GPP and other communities to communicate with the audience on the latest technological achievements.We will also invite representatives of well-known global operators, major manufacturers and application units to gather in Beijing to commit to the shared mission.


Showcasing advanced technologies and discussing with industrial elites, the GNTC 2018 will invite visitors to join us in a new era of network technologies. The organizing committee looks forward to your participation.

  • Father of the Internet
    Widely known as a “Father of the Internet,” Cerf is the co-designer of the TCP/IP protocols and the architecture of the Internet. In December 1997, President Bill Clinton presented the U.S. National Medal of Technology to Cerf and his colleague, Robert E. Kahn, for founding and developing the Internet. In 2004, Cerf was the recipient of the ACM Alan M. Turing award (sometimes called the “Nobel Prize of Computer Science”) and in 2005 he was given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George Bush. Cerf began his work at the United States Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) playing a key role in leading the development of Internet and Internet-related data packet and security technologies. Since 2005, he has served as vice president and chief Internet evangelist for Google. In this role, he is responsible for identifying new enabling technologies to support the development of advanced, Internet-based products and services. He is also an active public face for Google in the Internet world. He also served from 2000-2007 as chairman of the board of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), an organization he helped form. Cerf served as founding president of the Internet Society from 1992-1995, and in 1999 served a term as Chairman of the Board.

    Louis Pouzin has acquired an international reputation as an expert in computer communications and networks. Most of his career has been devoted to the design and implementation of computer systems, such as CTSS, the first large time sharing system at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or the CYCLADES computer network and its datagram packet switching network, from which TCP/IP was derived. Besides his experience leading teams of top professionals, he is known internationally for his participation in early network standardization activities within IFIP, ISO and CCITT, and his numerous publications, many of which have become educational material in network courses. As a lecturer, he is especially appreciated for presenting complex subjects in clear and understandable terms. He graduated from école Polytechnique in Paris. He is past chairman of IFIP-TC-6 (data communications). He has published more than 80 articles and a book on computer networks. Among awards he has received: IFIP Silver Core, ACM SIGCOMM, IEEE Internet, and French Légion d'Honneur. Presently he is Project Director with EUROLINC, an association promoting the use of native languages on the Internet.

    Mr. Wu, born on Jan. 16, 1943 in Guangzhou Province, China; graduated from Wuhan Post and Telecommunications Institute. He is the President of Internet Society of China, Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), and research fellow of fiber optical transport network and broadband network. He was Vice-President and Chief Engineer of China Academy of Telecommunications Technology, Vice President of Datang Telecom Group in 1997-2003. He was elected Member of the CAE in 1999 and Vice-President since Jun. 2002. Mr. Wu Hequan is one of the pioneers to undertake R&D in the field of digital communications technology in China. As R&D project manager and chief engineer, his project team was the first in the country to successfully develop many telecom equipments and systems, such as PCM30 terminal equipment, FDM/TDM Trans-MUX equipment, STM-1/STM-4 synchronous multiplexing equipments, 155Mb/s and 622Mb/s fiber optical transmission system and SDH demonstration project. He was Director of communications technology experts group of State Hi-tech program (863) in 1994-2000 and currently takes on Deputy Director of Supervisory Committee of 863 program and Member of Advisor Committee of National Basic Research (973) program. He was assigned as Member of China Advisory Committee for State Informatization and was Deputy-Director of the Executive Council of China Institute of Communications. He was awarded second grade prize of the State Science and Technology Progress Award.

  • Father of the Internet in Japan Internet Hall of Fame inductee
    Dr. Jun Murai is known as the ‘father of the Internet in Japan,’ and, outside of Japan, has also been called the 'Internet samurai.’ In 1984, he developed the Japan University UNIX Network (JUNET), the first-ever inter-university network in that nation. In 1988, he founded the Widely Integrated Distributed Environment Project, a Japanese Internet research consortium, for which he continues to serve as a board member. He is a professor and dean of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies at Keio University, from which he earned his PhD in computer science in 1987. He served as President of the Japan Network Information Center (JPNIC) and as Vice President of the Japanese Internet Association. He served on the Internet Society’s Board of Trustees from 1997 to 2000. In 1998, he was appointed as one of nine initial directors of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers and served until June 2003. He won the 2005 Internet Society's Jonathan B. Postel Service Award in recognition of his vision and pioneering work that helped spread the Internet across the Asia Pacific region. He was honored with the 2011 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Internet Award.

    Nick McKeown has been a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Stanford University since 1995. In 2005 he started the Clean Slate Program at Stanford, which with Martin Casado and Scott Shenker led to "Software Defined Networking". He co-founded Nicira (now part of VMware), Abrizio and Nemo ("Network Memory", now part of Cisco), as well as ONF, ON.Lab and P4.org. In 2013 he co-founded Barefoot Networks, where he is Chairman and Chief Scientist. His current passion is to move the network data-plane from fixed-function hardware up and into software where it belongs. He hopes this will foster much faster innovation in networking, and finally hand over the keys to those who own and operate networks, to customize them to best suit their needs. Nick is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE), the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (UK). He received the British Computer Society Lovelace Medal (2005), the IEEE Kobayashi Computer and Communications Award (2009), the ACM Sigcomm Lifetime Achievement Award (2012), and an Honorary Doctorate from ETH (Zurich, 2014).

    Andrew Sullivan joined the Internet Society as President and Chief Executive Officer in September 2018. He has worked on Internet infrastructure and standards since 2001. In 2012 he joined Dyn (later, Oracle Dyn) to establish Dyn Labs and then to manage the DNS development and architecture departments. His activities in this area led to him being appointed to the Internet Architecture Board (IAB) in 2013. His IAB colleagues elected him Chair in 2015 and 2016. Andrew's IAB tenure coincided with the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) stewardship transition. Andrew was deeply involved in the community's efforts around the transition and played a central role in its eventual success. His expertise in the area was acknowledged when he was invited to testify about the transition to the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. Before joining Dyn, Andrew was a principal contributor to the Variant Issues Project (VIP) undertaken by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). The VIP was an effort to bring together several different, previous efforts in support of internationalized domain names. The VIP was made of teams from all over the world, working on five major writing systems. Andrew worked with all of them to try to gather together the needs of the many different linguistic communities of the world, and the Internet's critical value as an interoperable, neutral platform. The positive results of the VIP are being expressed every day through Internet-scale internationalized domain names. At the beginning of Andrew's Internet infrastructure career, he worked to launch the .info Internet top-level domain in 2001. Because of that experience, he was part of the team that collaborated with the Internet Society to launch Public Interest Registry, and take over the operation of the .org top-level domain. These registries used PostgreSQL, an advanced open-source database management system. Because of his work in this area Andrew organized the PostgreSQL Anniversary Summit, held at Ryerson University in Toronto in 2006. Andrew was born in Buffalo, NY, USA to Canadian parents, and has lived most of his life in Canada. He holds a Baccalaureate of Arts (Hons) from the University of Ottawa, and a Master of Arts from McMaster University, both in Philosophy. His graduate work on the philosophy of economics led him to his interest in free/open source software and open Internet protocols and standards. He carries that interest and passion forward to his position at the Internet Society.

    George Michaelson is currently APNIC’s senior R&D scientist. Recently, he has been working on long-baseline DNS statistics, services logging, audit and analysis, and design and implementation of the Internet Number Resource Certification framework. George is a member of the BCS, and a founder member of the Australian chapter of the Internet Society. He participates regularly in IETF standardization meetings, and co-authors Request For Comment (RFC) documents, technical drafts, and conference and peer-review papers. George graduated from York University in 1982 with a BSc in Computer Science. His career in the United Kingdom and Australia has pursued research and development in computer science, networking, and systems administration.

    Che-Hoo joined APNIC in April 2017. His current responsibilities at APNIC include training, technical assistance, security outreach, infrastructure services and technical community support. Before APNIC, Che-Hoo was in charge of Hong Kong Internet eXchange (HKIX) and the university IT infrastructure at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He has accumulated over 30 years of experience and knowledge of Internet and IT infrastructure and human connections through services for APNIC Executive Council, .ASIA TLD (Top Level Domain) application and .ASIA Board, Level 3 Asia, FLAG Telecom Asia, APIX, .HK, Hong Kong Academic and Research Network (HARNET), HKISPA, ISOC-HK, HKNOG, APRICOT-APAN 2011 in Hong Kong and APAN 42 in Hong Kong.

    Aseem Parikh will represent ONF to speak at the 2017 Global SDNFV Conference. He serves as Vice President of Solutions and Partnerships at ONF, where he champions open source SDN projects - CORD and ONOS. He is responsible for working with network operators and cloud providers to define POCs and help move those POCs to trials to deployments. Aseem brings 20+ years of global operating experience in the computer networking industry and a deep passion for product management and strategy to ON.Lab. His successful entrepreneurial pursuits include ventures acquired by Cisco in 1999 and Netlogic/Broadcom in 2008. He was responsible for securing strategic customer wins at Fortune500 enterprises including AT&T, Cadbury-Kraft (Mondelez), Comcast, Fujitsu, Huawei, Kellogg, Verizon and Virgin Media; as well as federal agencies and contractors like Harris, Lockheed Martin and NASA. Aseem holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from UCLA.

    Nan founded and is President of MEF, a leading standards/certification organization in the networking industry with aggregated member market capitalization of $US 2 trillion. He also co-founded CENX, a pioneer and leader in service orchestration solutions for software defined and virtualized networks. Prior to founding CENX, Nan held executive roles at Atrica (acquired by Nokia) and Bay Networks/SynOptics (acquired by Nortel). Nan has been well-recognized with awards/accolades, including the Leader of the Year in telecom, and one of the 100 Most Influential People in the Industry. In his past life, Nan was a record holder for pole vault at Beijing University.

    Dan Pitt has been a leading voice of the SDNFV movement since its inception. He served as Executive Director of ONF from its public launch in March 2011 until September 2016 and since January 2017 has been Senior Vice President of MEF. He also advises private and public companies to commercialize new ideas and stay abreast of new capabilities. Prior to ONF he ran and advised startup companies in Silicon Valley, Australia, and Canada and served as Dean of Engineering at Santa Clara University. He held executive management roles at Nortel Networks and Bay Networks, developed and managed networking technology and HP and IBM, and taught computer science and electrical engineering at Duke and UNC. He holds a B.S. in mathematics from Duke and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the University of Illinois.

    Hiroshi Esaki Ph.D received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, in 1985 and 1987, respectively. And, he received Ph.D from The University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1998. In 1987, he joined Research and Development Center, Toshiba Corporation. From 1990 to 1991, he has been at Applied Research Laboratory of Bellcore Inc., New Jersey (USA), as a residential researcher. From 1994 to 1996, he has been at CTR (Center for Telecommunication Research) of Columbia University in New York (USA). During his staying at Columbia University, he has proposed the CSR architecture, that is the origin of Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), to the IETF and to the ATM Forum. From 1996 to 1998, he has conducted the CSR project in Toshiba, as a chief architect. Since 1997, he has involved in the IPv6 research and development at the WIDE project. He is a co-founder of series of IPv6 special project in the WIDE project, i.e.: KAME project ; IPv6 protocol stack for BSD UNIX TAHI project ; IPv6 test and evaluation specification and tools USAGI project ; IPv6 protocol stack for Linux Regarding the research/development/deployment for the IPv6, he has been very tightly and closely working with Prof. Jun Murai, who has been a political and technical advisor for the Japanese cabinet for more than 15 years. He is an executive director of IPv6 promotion council, which is cross ministry and cross industry council to promote the IPv6 technology. As the activities of IPv6 promotion council, he has established the following working groups, that are aiming to explore and to deploy the IPv6 as the professional and business operation. Since 2003, he has started the introduction of TCP/IP and Internet Framework into the facility system, which is now identified as SmartGrid, Smart Building, Smart Campus or Smart City. He successfully standardized the TCP/IP based architectural framework as IEEE1888 in IEEE, and proposing to NIST SGIP CoS (Catalogue of Standard) in US and to ISO/IEC JTC1 SC6. He is a vice chair of Japan Network Information Center (JPNIC), since 2006, and has served as an IPv6 Forum Fellow and chair of IPv6 Ready Logo Program Commitee. From 2006 to 2010, he served as Board of Trustee for Internet Society. He is a director of WIDE Project since 2010, director of Japan Data Center Council since 2009, and director of Green University of Tokyo Project, which is one of the important and killer application of IoT for 21st century, since 2008.

    Helder Antunes is Senior Director, Corporate Strategic Innovation Group at Cisco. He is a results-driven technologist and Cisco veteran with more than 28 years of experience in leading product and solution development. In his current position, Mr. Antunes leads a team to identify major technology market disruptions and align them with Cisco’s key market initiatives and business unit strategies. Previously, as managing director of Cisco’s Internet of Things group, he focused on Smart Connected Vehicles, one of the fastest growing market opportunities for the IT sector. Mr. Antunes also works with the Portuguese government on innovation programs including the AICEP internship “INOV Contacto Program” and is a guest lecturer at several Portuguese universities. He also serves as an adviser to the Regional Government of the Azores, Portugal. Mr. Antunes has received many awards for his work at Cisco and with the Portuguese government including the COTEC Portuguese Diaspora Entrepreneurial Innovation Award (multiple years).

    Dr. Yang Yang is currently a professor with Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology (SIMIT), Chinese Academy of Sciences, serving as the Director of CAS Key Laboratory of Wireless Sensor Network and Communication, and the Director of Shanghai Research Center for Wireless Communications (WiCO). He is also a Distinguished Adjunct Professor with the School of Information Science and Technology, ShanghaiTech University. Prior to that, he has held faculty positions at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Brunel University, and University College London (UCL), Yang is a member of the Chief Technical Committee of the National Science and Technology Major Project “New Generation Mobile Wireless Broadband Communication Networks” (2008-2020), which is funded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China. In addition, he is on the Chief Technical Committee for the National 863 Hi-Tech R&D Program “5G System R&D Major Projects”, which is funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of China. Since January 2017, he has been serving the OpenFog Consortium as the Director for Greater China Region. Yang’s current research interests include wireless sensor networks, Internet of Things, Fog computing, Open 5G, and advanced wireless testbeds. He has published more than 150 papers and filed over 80 technical patents in wireless communications.

    Chee Weng Hey is a Tungsten Fabric community ambassador and a senior consulting engineering specialist with Juniper Networks where he contributes to the Contrail and Appformix software products. Chee is an experienced IT solutions expert skilled in management, pre-sales, Linux, integration, and enterprise software. Prior to joining Juniper Networks, Chee held positions with SingTel, IBM, Oracle and Red Hat. Chee earned his engineering degree from Nanyang Technological University and his Masters of Business Administration from The University of Western Australia. Speech: Tungsten Fabric: Open Source Multi-Cloud Networking at Scale Abstract: As both Enterprise and Telco IT architectures evolve, supporting multi-cloud environments is table stakes. This presentation will describe how users can quickly get going with Tungsten Fabric, using software-driven networking and policy management to operate in a multi-cloud environment. Tungsten Fabric (http://www.tungsten.io; formerly OpenContrail) is an open source, scalable and multi-cloud networking platform. Large enterprises and service providers are using it at massive production scale. Tungsten Fabric is integrated with Kubernetes, VMware and OpenStack. It also supports public cloud deployments including AWS, Google and Azure. This presentation will provide a quick overview of how users are deploying Tungsten Fabric for load balancing, HA, service chaining, analytics/orchestration and extending network to multi private / public clouds viz., AWS, Azure and Google.

    Veronika McKillop works as a Network Architect in Microsoft IT. She leads the Enterprise IPv6 efforts with the long-term goal of moving all corporate network services to IPv6-only. Prior to joining Microsoft, Veronika worked in Cisco as a Consulting Systems Engineer in the Global Service Provider team. Veronika chairs the UK IPv6 Council which she founded in order to bring the technical, business and government community together and to progress the IPv6 deployments in the UK.

    Franck Martin has been postmaster at LinkedIn from 2011 till 2017. He spent nearly 20 years in Fiji where he worked extensively with 20 or so Pacific Islands countries. He was trustee at the Internet Society 2006-2009, members of the Pacific Islands and San Francisco Chapters. He has deployed a few ISPs in Tuvalu, Fiji and Samoa as well as established two ccTLDs dot KI (Kiribati) and dot NR (Nauru). He has worked on the DMARC.org specification, deployed it at LinkedIn and he is promoting email authentication technologies and policies. He is currently working towards building an IPv6-only data center at LinkedIn. He is also active in the alternative electronic music scene in San Francisco. He has released several electronica albums under his name.

    Marijana Novakovic is Staff Network Engineer at LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network on Internet with more than 500 million members in over 200 countries and territories. She manages interconnection strategy globally for LinkedIn including transit, transport, peering, POP deployment and performance on the edge. On the network engineering side, she is involved in backbone modelling, BGP scale, edge security, IPv6 and self-healing networks. Her current contribution to the Internet community includes: Board of Directors at GPF (Global Peering Forum), PC co-chair at APRICOT (Asia Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies) and committee member of INEX (Internet Neutral Exchange). She is actively involved in Women-In-Tech and a regular participant of Grace Hopper and Women of Silicon Valley conferences.

    Dr Sławomir KUKLINSKI received his PhD with honours from Warsaw University of Technology in 1994, and since then, he is Assistant Professor there. He teaches mobile and wireless systems. From 2003 he has also been working for Orange Polska as Research Expert focused on mobile and wireless systems with emphasis to self-managed and cognitive solutions. At present, he works intensively on network slicing. As a principal investigator he led many national research projects and was involved in many international projects, including FP6 MIDAS, FP7 EFIPSANS, FP7 4WARD, FP7 ProSense, Celtic COMMUNE, he coordinated Polish-Luxembourgish project on Cognitive SDN (CoSDN). At present, he is involved EU-Japan project 5G!Pagoda and EU-China project 5G-Drive. He was working on SDN standardization in ITU-T (Study Group 13) and now is involved in IETF and ITU-T activities on network slicing. Slawomir Kukliński has published more than 50 conference and journal papers, served as a member of TPC of many conferences and gave several invited keynotes.

    Dr. Athul Prasad is an experienced senior manager, researcher, innovator and technologist, with a passion for change through disruptive innovations. He has worked with various telcos such as Huawei, Nokia, and NEC, in research, business management and product development for 10+ years in various roles. Currently, he is part of Nokia’s end-to-end 5G leadership program and is the Head of 5G Business Modeling & Analysis, based in Helsinki, Finland. He has also contributed to the 5G-PPP phase-2 flagship project on multicast/broadcast called 5G-Xcast, as the technical manager of the project. His research interests include technology enablers for end-to-end 5G system especially in new verticals and markets such as media & entertainment, and is always on the lookout for disruptive technology innovations in 5G which drives value creation within the ecosystem. He is the co-author and co-inventor for over 90 international publications, patent applications (including granted patents), technical reports and standards contributions. He has won the best paper award at IEEE VTC-Spring 2013, best 5G paper award at IEEE BMSB 2018 and was the best paper finalist at IEEE 5G World Forum 2018. He received his Masters', M.Sc. (Tech.) (with distinction) and Doctoral, D.Sc. (Tech) degrees in Communications Engineering from Aalto University, and is pursuing the one-year Executive Education (LEAD) Program on Corporate Innovation from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.

    Satoshi Nagata received his B.E. and M.E. degrees from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, in 2001 and 2003, respectively. In 2003, he joined NTT DOCOMO, INC. He worked for the research and development for wireless access technologies for LTE, LTE-Advanced. He is currently a senior research engineer working for 5G and 3GPP standardization. He had contributed to 3GPP over 10 years, and contributed 3GPP TSG-RAN WG1 as a vice chairman during November 2011 to August 2013, and also contributed as a chairman during August 2013 to August 2017. He is currently a vice chairman of 3GPP TSG-RAN since March 2017. Abstract: Currently, 5G (5th Generation) mobile access technology was specified in 3GPP. 5G targets eMBB (enhanced Mobile BroadBand), URLLC (Ultra Reliable and Low Latency Communication), and mMTC (massive Machine Type Communication). Title: “A glance into the future”: Designing the Tactile Internet Abstract From virtual reality, to telepresence, augmented reality, holograms, and remotely‑controlled robotics, these future network applications promise an unprecedented development for society, economics and culture. Unfortunately, today’s “best-effort” Internet services are not able to cater to the requirements of these applications like precisely-guaranteed low latency, guaranteed throughput and high reliability. There is therefore a clear need to reimagine the Internet and redesign it so that it can provide a new breed of services adapted to these applications. In this talk, we first analyse the requirements of future applications and then highlight the limitations of the current Internet architecture and protocols and their inability to satisfy such requirements. We then discuss how the new Internet of the future should provide a new breed of services like tactile communications, high‑precision communications, qualitative communications, and holographic‑type communications.

From web project manager to domain name portfolio owner for brands, she met Louis Pouzin in 1998 and has since worked with him. She heads an association dedicated to natural languages, EUROLINC, where she is the Chairperson. In 2012 she created the company Savoir-Faire with Louis Pouzin to explore the management of TLDs on the Internet. Since 2017, it has been actively involved in the work on the new RINA Internet Protocol, which will pave the way for the Internet of tomorrow.     Dr. Tao Chen has been working in the telecom industry in Europe and China for more than twenty years. He is a seasoned project coordinator, senior researcher and enthusiastic innovator in wide areas of telecommunications. He has successfully turned research ideas into large projects and secured the funding for over 20 m€. He has long experience in coordinating large R&D projects in Europe. He initiated and coordinated the H2020 COHERENT project during 2015-2018. The project is one of first EU 5G PPP projects. In the past, he was very active to promote international research collaboration. Before joining ONF, he received a Ph.D. from Politecnico di Milano in 2017, in a joint program with école Polytechnique de Montréal, where he worked on problems related to data plane programmability, with a focus on abstractions and hardware architectures for stateful packet processing.

    Mr. Wu, born on Jan. 16, 1943 in Guangzhou Province, China; graduated from Wuhan Post and Telecommunications Institute. He is the President of Internet Society of China, Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), and research fellow of fiber optical transport network and broadband network. He was Vice-President and Chief Engineer of China Academy of Telecommunications Technology, Vice President of Datang Telecom Group in 1997-2003. He was elected Member of the CAE in 1999 and Vice-President since Jun. 2002. Mr. Wu Hequan is one of the pioneers to undertake R&D in the field of digital communications technology in China. As R&D project manager and chief engineer, his project team was the first in the country to successfully develop many telecom equipments and systems, such as PCM30 terminal equipment, FDM/TDM Trans-MUX equipment, STM-1/STM-4 synchronous multiplexing equipments, 155Mb/s and 622Mb/s fiber optical transmission system and SDH demonstration project. He was Director of communications technology experts group of State Hi-tech program (863) in 1994-2000 and currently takes on Deputy Director of Supervisory Committee of 863 program and Member of Advisor Committee of National Basic Research (973) program. He was assigned as Member of China Advisory Committee for State Informatization and was Deputy-Director of the Executive Council of China Institute of Communications. He was awarded second grade prize of the State Science and Technology Progress Award.

    Nick McKeown
    Professor of Stanford University
    Nick McKeown has been a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Stanford University since 1995. In 2005 he started the Clean Slate Program at Stanford, which with Martin Casado and Scott Shenker led to "Software Defined Networking". He co-founded Nicira (now part of VMware), Abrizio and Nemo ("Network Memory", now part of Cisco), as well as ONF, ON.Lab and P4.org. In 2013 he co-founded Barefoot Networks, where he is Chairman and Chief Scientist. His current passion is to move the network data-plane from fixed-function hardware up and into software where it belongs. He hopes this will foster much faster innovation in networking, and finally hand over the keys to those who own and operate networks, to customize them to best suit their needs.     Louis Pouzin has acquired an international reputation as an expert in computer communications and networks. Most of his career has been devoted to the design and implementation of computer systems, such as CTSS, the first large time sharing system at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or the CYCLADES computer network and its datagram packet switching network, from which TCP/IP was derived. Besides his experience leading teams of top professionals, he is known internationally for his participation in early network standardization activities within IFIP, ISO and CCITT, and his numerous publications, many of which have become educational material in network courses. As a lecturer, he is especially appreciated for presenting complex subjects in clear and understandable terms. He graduated from école Polytechnique in Paris. He is past chairman of IFIP-TC-6 (data communications). He has published more than 80 articles and a book on computer networks. Among awards he has received: IFIP Silver Core, ACM SIGCOMM, IEEE Internet, and French Légion d'Honneur. Presently he is Project Director with EUROLINC, an association promoting the use of native languages on the Internet.

    Hiroshi Esaki Ph.D received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, in 1985 and 1987, respectively. And, he received Ph.D from The University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1998. In 1987, he joined Research and Development Center, Toshiba Corporation. From 1990 to 1991, he has been at Applied Research Laboratory of Bellcore Inc., New Jersey (USA), as a residential researcher. From 1994 to 1996, he has been at CTR (Center for Telecommunication Research) of Columbia University in New York (USA). During his staying at Columbia University, he has proposed the CSR architecture, that is the origin of Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), to the IETF and to the ATM Forum. From 1996 to 1998, he has conducted the CSR project in Toshiba, as a chief architect. Since 1997, he has involved in the IPv6 research and development at the WIDE project. He is a co-founder of series of IPv6 special project in the WIDE project, i.e.: KAME project ; IPv6 protocol stack for BSD UNIX TAHI project ; IPv6 test and evaluation specification and tools USAGI project ; IPv6 protocol stack for Linux Regarding the research/development/deployment for the IPv6, he has been very tightly and closely working with Prof. Jun Murai, who has been a political and technical advisor for the Japanese cabinet for more than 15 years. He is an executive director of IPv6 promotion council, which is cross ministry and cross industry council to promote the IPv6 technology. As the activities of IPv6 promotion council, he has established the following working groups, that are aiming to explore and to deploy the IPv6 as the professional and business operation. Since 2003, he has started the introduction of TCP/IP and Internet Framework into the facility system, which is now identified as SmartGrid, Smart Building, Smart Campus or Smart City. He successfully standardized the TCP/IP based architectural framework as IEEE1888 in IEEE, and proposing to NIST SGIP CoS (Catalogue of Standard) in US and to ISO/IEC JTC1 SC6. He is a vice chair of Japan Network Information Center (JPNIC), since 2006, and has served as an IPv6 Forum Fellow and chair of IPv6 Ready Logo Program Commitee. From 2006 to 2010, he served as Board of Trustee for Internet Society. He is a director of WIDE Project since 2010, director of Japan Data Center Council since 2009, and director of Green University of Tokyo Project, which is one of the important and killer application of IoT for 21st century, since 2008.

She heads an association dedicated to natural languages, EUROLINC, where she is the Chairperson. In 2012 she created the company Savoir-Faire with Louis Pouzin to explore the management of TLDs on the Internet. Since 2017, it has been actively involved in the work on the new RINA Internet Protocol, which will pave the way for the Internet of tomorrow. In November 2018 she published a biography of Louis Pouzin at Editions Economica (France) retracing the life of this awesome inventor.

Gupta is publicly recognized as an Analyst, Author, Advocate and Advisor on ICT related Policies, Projects and Business. Globally known as “NGNguru” he is a trainer and coach for telecommunication technologies, policy and regulation and a Govt. Affairs and Regulatory advocate. Author of " Everything over IP- All you want to know about NGN" and “Bandwidth Factory- Last mile as a Managed Service". He also authored a concept called “Job Factory- Converting Unemployment into Intraprenuership” which is being used to create jobs in rural India. His recent research based work ,“Extra Mile- Walking the Talk on Rural Broadband Business”, brings out the innovative business models to Make it Happen. A public, key note speaker on most of the ICT events in India and Founder of NGN Forum in India to spread awareness about NGN all-over. He is triple master in Electronic Technology, ICT Management and Telecom Regulation and Policy. He was inducted as the youngest Life Fellow of IETE (1991) and conferred Chartered Engineer in 1996. In addition, he served as the member of EC at IETE, Secundraband in 90s and also invited member of National Council in 2000s. Joined Ministry of Communications in 1981 and Ministry of Railways in 1983, through Indian Engg, Services after Post Graduation in Electronics and Communication from IISc, Bangalore, the premium technical institute of India. During 25 years with Government he worked in various capacities in different departments of Govt. Some of these beings Senior Project Manager (passenger reservations computerization) in Mumbai area, Prof. of Telecom Training at IRISET Secundrabad , Project Director ( GM) of IRCON International’s OFC Project, Principal Advisor ( Additional Secretary to Govt. of India) TRAI (In- charge of Converged Network, Broadband, NLD, ILD and Interconnection Division). He was awarded the Railways Minister award during 1995-96 for outstanding performance for Delhi area Digitalisation project of Indian Railways. He also pioneered the concepts of NIXI, NIR, IPV6, Unlicensed Spectrum, VOIP, Broadband Policy, NGN and Railtel in the Country all these are up and running. As a freelancer he established a mentoring and advisory company “SAAM CorpAdvisors”, engaged in “Managing Govt. Affairs as a Service” He has also been associated with International Telecommunication Union (An UN body) as an NGN Expert and also Commonwealth Telecom Organisation (CTO) as an NGN Trainer. Vice-President and Trustee of PTC India Foundation, he is also elected as the Jt. Secretary General of APT-ITU Foundation of India. He is member of India IPV6 Task Force oversight committee an Apex body of the Govt. for IPV6 implementation and a Nominee Director of IT-ITES SSC of National Skill Development Corporation and Executive Secy. General of Amity International Telecom Forum. He is also appointed as Vice -Rapporteur of SG1 of ITU-D dealing with NGN, Broadband and IPV6 migration. Presently, he is heading Bluetown’s, India and Asia operations with overall responsibility of “Making It Happen” its Vision of “ Connecting the Unconnected people in Rural areas of World”.

    I was born on 26 March 1960. In 1983 I graduated from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (MEPhI, faculty of cybernetic, department of system analysis) as an engineer-mathematician. Now it is National Research Nuclear University «MEPhI» (Kashirskoe sh, 31, Moscow, Russia) From 1983 till now I am an employee (scientist, chief scientist, group leader) in Institute of Atomic Energy (Kurchatov Institute). Now it is National Research Center "KURCHATOV INSTITUTE" (Kurchatov sq.,1, Moscow, Russia) From 1986 to 1989 I took part in elimination of consequences of the Chernobyl accident as a scientist of Complex Expedition of Institute of Atomic Energy (Kurchatov Institute). From 1991 to 1993 I participated as an expert in the international JSP1 and JSP2 projects (the program of the Commission of the European communities for development of information management systems by elimination of consequences of nuclear accidents). From 1993 till 2003 I was a lecturer in Russian State University for the Humanities (faculty of Informatics, department of information systems, Miusskaya sq. 6, Moscow, GSP-3, 125993, Russia). From 2004 till now I am an associate professor in National Research Nuclear University («MEPhI», Kashirskoe sh, 31, Moscow, Russia) (faculty of cybernetic, department of system analysis) and lectures the courses: "World information resources", "Open systems", "Computing systems and networks". I have got PhD degree of Technical Sciences (1998) and academic status of Associate Professor (2003). From 2008 till 2015 I was Business Development Director of OJSC “RU-CENTER” (3rd Khoroshevskay str., 2, bld.1, Moscow, Russia). From 2010 till now I am the DNS project manager in JSC Moscow Internet Exchange (JSC «MSK-IX», Svobody str., 91, bld. 2, Moscow, Russia). JSC “MSK-IX” is the operator of DNS-nodes for Russian TLDs .RU/.РФ. From 2015 and till now I hold the position of the head of the applied services department of The Technical Center of Internet (JSC TCI), Zoologicheskaya str., 8 . Moscow, Russia. The Technical Center of the Internet provides backbone services to the registries and runs the domain registration services of Russia's top level domains .RU, .РФ, .SU, .ДЕТИ, .TATAR. From 2012 till now I am the coordinator of “Netoscope” project. A unique analytical resource, the Netoscope project aims at making the Russian domain space safer for users. Launched by Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ in 2012, “Netoscope” now allows data aggregation and analysis with respect to domain names addressing malicious resources in .RU, .РФ and .SU ccTLDs. Netoscope is the domain reputation service for TLDs .RU/.РФ/.TATAR/.ДЕТИ.

    Feng Jun, graduated from the School of Computer Science and Technology of Northwestern Polytechnical University with a Master degree in 2002. As the Planning Director and Chief Engineer of ZTE BN Product Line, Mr. Feng was once appointed as the development manager, chief engineer and product manager of ZTE routers since he joined in ZTE in 2001. Since 2001, he has devoted himself to the development, product management, market planning and pre-research of data communications. His major research direction includes ATM, MPLS, SDN\NFV and IPV6. In the recent one year, he is mainly responsible for customizing IPv6 solutions, communicating with potential customers and making the solutions successfully applied in Chinese markets. Title:Building a solid IPv6 base to comply with both legacy and future networks The files issued by General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council at the end of 2017 officially start large-scale IPv6 deployment in China. In the past one year, based on the government’s powerful support and upstream and downstream industries’ strict implementation, the deployment of IPV6 for commercial use has undergone qualitative changes: 1. For network layers, operators will complete their entire network upgrade by the end of this year. 2. Most terminals are now providing superior support for IPv6. 3. With regard to contents, the IPv6-based evolution is also undergoing. It is estimated that by the end of 2018, an end-to-end IPv6 network that covers all major services will come into being. As an experienced equipment provider, ZTE keeps helping operators and other enterprise customers extensively re-architect their IPv6 networks, making it possible for the new IPv6 networks to support all sorts of service application scenarios. With great enthusiasm for new technologies, ZTE is ready to build an automated and simplified IPv6 network to help customers adapt to the approaching SDN/NFV-based network re-architecting and embrace the new era of 5G, IoT and network & cloud synergy.
