This track session explores OTT live stream latency. We examine typical latencies in the USA and Europe and the explore the constituents of latency in modern delivery systems. We then look at the importance of player start-up logic in determining overall latency, followed by the use of CMAF low latency chunking to deliver latencies lower than the segmented duration. We’ll end with benefits of alternate technologies such as WebRTC.
