Workplace fraud has increased since the onset of the pandemic. The current pandemic increases the risk of fraud for multinational enterprises as it becomes harder to manage their China-based subsidiaries due to the travel restrictions in place. Not only does corrupt behaviour can have severe legal consequences, the inefficient allocation of resources, because of corruption, can also have negative economic implications.
