Alessandro Golombiewski Teixeira
Alessandro Golombiewski Teixeira is a renowned Brazilian economist. He holds a PhD in Industrial Economics and Innovation from the University of Sussex, England, an MSc in Latin America Economics from Universidade de São Paulo.
Dr. Golombiewski Teixeira has extensive national and international experience in economics and trade. He has served in the Brazilian Government from 2003 to 2016 in several high-level positions such as minister of tourism, deputy minister of development, industry and foreign trade, president of Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) and the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), and chief economist of the Presidency of Brazil. Also, he presided over the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) and the Ibero–American Network of Trade–Promotion Organizations (Redibero). In the last 15 years, Dr. Golombiewski Teixeira has served on the board on different institutions such as the Brazilian National Economic and Social Development Bank, Telemar Participações S.A., Lupatech S.A, Klabin S.A., the Suzano Group, and AES Corporation among others. He has received numerous awards throughout his career. Among them, in 2008, he was elected “Personality of the Year – Latin America” by the respected English newspaper Financial Times.
