Various mechanical systems concern the national economy and people’s livelihood, and signify the comprehensive strength of a nation’s science and technology. Their development is one of the main streams of human civilization and depends largely on the progression of science and technology of mechanical system dynamics. Mechanical system dynamics has become one of the cornerstones of modern science, technology and industry, and is widely valued by countries around the world.

To meet the demands of the rapid development of mechanical system dynamics, the standing International Conference on Mechanical System Dynamics (ICMSD) is organized and will be held every odd-numbered year in different countries on a rotating basis. The Standing Steering Committee of ICMSD now consists of 35 famous international experts worldwide, including 15 members of national academies of science/engineering, 14 Editors-in-Chief of international journals in related fields, and 14 presidents/chairmen of international academic associations. The chair of ICMSD is Prof. Xiaoting Rui, Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The 5 co-chairs are Prof. Aki Mikkola, Editor-in-Chief of Multibody System Dynamics, Prof. Marco Amabili, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Prof. Seung-Bok Choi, Fellow of the Korea Science and Technology Academy, Prof. Tianshou Zhao, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Prof. Yonggang Huang, Member of the US National Academy of Engineering/Sciences.

The 2nd International Conference on Mechanical System Dynamics (ICMSD2023) will be hosted by Peking University, in Beijing, China, Sept. 1-5, 2023. The conference is devoted to "Technology Innovations by Understanding Mechanical Dynamics", with 18 sessions to promote research in dynamic theories on complex structures, multidisciplinary integration, and advanced technologies for applications. The scientific committee of ICMSD2023 is now composed of 60 prestigious scientists from 13 countries and regions. Distinguished scientists are invited to present keynote / plenary speeches.

The conference will continue to provide a platform for global scientists in the field of mechanical system dynamics to exchange scientific and technical ideas!
