Does the problem of lacking space for materials on the production line, the long search times for materials or the loss of materials, the lack of logistics personnel during peak periods, and the lack of timely refill of needed materials sound familiar to you? The "separation of value-added operations from logistics" approach is significantly changing the traditional material logistics model, and thus brings new challenges. In addition, there are significant labor costs associated with internal material supply and replenishment, not to mention the large number of operational activities that occur during the material distribution process.
The successful application of the LEAN approach in logistics supports the material consumption of the
production site by supplying the best use points in the work system. An
optimized production supply system with short distribution cycles and
synchronization with customer order requirements can be achieved by
the operation of in-plant circulation trains. Planning and controlling processes, from
customer orders via production on to suppliers, are ideally to be
designed with a consistent pull concept.
