The perspective of international investors on China has shifted. Over the years, layers of political change have been added to the multiple commercial challenges for multinational companies in the highly competitive Chinese market. In a way, the China Strategy of the German Government which was published on July 13, 2023 has provided a summary of the arising complexities within this new normal.

While companies struggle for the right adaption of their China strategy to the new circumstances, this workshop will shed some light on the on-the-ground implications of compliance and financial flows:

  • Mobilize liquidity: Developments and impact on company finances and financing

  • Financing sources under de-risking

  • Regulatory impact: What Germany’s new China strategy means for German companies doing business in China

  • Future of supply chain risk management: Case studies

  • Deep localization: Opportunities and risks for business in China

  • Mitigate personal liability risks: Strategies and case studies
