[Oct 22| Online] GCC Virtual Compliance Insights:
Secure your compliance with LkSG and CSDDD: How to address obstacles
faced by Chinese suppliers when dealing with LkSG-questionnaires
Language : English
Date&Time : 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. October 22, 2024
Venue 地点: Microsoft Teams
While the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) entered into force on July 25, 2024, with a two-year period for the implementation into national law by the EU member states, the first batch of German companies already submitted the BAFA report in March 2024 under the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG).
When asking their suppliers in China to provide information as required under the LkSG, many German companies experienced severe obstacles, as their suppliers were either not aware of the LkSG and the related obligations or not in the position to provide such information. This lack of information caused red flags in the BAFA reports of the German companies.
During this online event, Mr. Rainer Burkardt, Head of Practice and Executive Counsel at Burkardt & Partner Rechtsanwälte, will, based on a real case example:
Explain the practical obstacles Chinese suppliers face when confronted with LkSG-questionnaires;
Introduce possible solutions to encourage and enable the Chinese suppliers to provide correct and complete information;
Outline the legal consequences of non-compliance under the current LkSG and the upcoming CSDDD.
