Stephen Karpin is Visa's President for Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for all Visa's business operations in the region.

Prior to leading Asia Pacific, Stephen was the Representative Director of Visa Worldwide (Japan) and Country Manager, Japan. He has also served as Group Country Manager for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific and Group Country Manager for Regional Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific Sales Operations Lead.

Stephen's experience extends from having held leadership roles across Australia's largest financial institutions including Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westpac Banking Corporation and after several years at Citibank, where he worked in Australia, Singapore and Japan.

Before he joined Visa in 2014, Stephen was the Managing Director of CommSec, Australia’s largest online trading platform. Prior to that, he was Executive General Manager, Credit Cards at Commonwealth Bank.

At Westpac, Stephen served as Head of Unsecured Finance and held responsibilities for the leadership of Westpac’s credit card and personal loans businesses.

Madeline Carr is Professor of Global Politics and Cybersecurity at University College London. From 2023–2025, she was also Visiting Chair of Technology at Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University. Her research focuses on the implications of emerging technology for national and global security, international order, and corporate governance. Professor Carr has published on cyber norms, multi-stakeholder Internet governance, the future of the insurance sector in the IoT, cybersecurity and international law, the public/private partnership in national cyber security strategies, global technology standards, and the global governance of data as well as the ways in which boards approach cyber risk. Professor Carr is a member of the World Economic Forum Global Innovation and Impact Council. She is also the Co-Director of an interdisciplinary Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Cybersecurity at UCL and Deputy Director of a second CDT on hybrid threats. From 2018–2022, Professor Carr was Director of the UK wide Research Institute for Sociotechnical Cyber Security and developed a research program on cybersecurity in local government. Professor Carr is a Senior Research Associate at RUSI and a Fellow of the Global China Academy.

Dr. Ya-Qin Zhang is Chair Professor of AI Science at Tsinghua University, and Founding Dean of Institute for AI Industry Research of Tsinghua University (AIR). He was the President of Baidu Inc. from 2014 to 2019. Prior to Baidu, Dr. Zhang was a Microsoft executive for 16 years with different key positions, including Managing Director of Microsoft Research Asia, Chairman of Microsoft China, and Corporate Vice President and Chairman of Microsoft Asia R&D.

Dr. Zhang was elected to the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAA&S), the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE), the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), and the Euro-Asia Academy of Sciences. He is a Fellow of IEEE and CAAI. He is one of the top scientists and technologists in digital video and AI, with over 500 papers, 60 granted US patents, and 11 books. His original research has become the basis for start-up ventures, new products, and international standards in digital video, cloud computing, and autonomous driving.

He serves on the Board of Directors of four public companies. He is on the industry board of United Nation Development Program (UNDP), and AI global council of the Davos World Economic Forum. He is the Chairman of world's largest open autonomous driving platform “Apollo” alliance with over 200 global partners. He has been an active speaker in global forums including APEC, Davos, United Nations, and Bo'Ao Asia Forum.
