The industry's most influential annual open source event, the 7th Annual China Open Source Conference 2022 (COSCon'22), will be held October 29-30 by the Kaiyuanshe.
Kaiyuanshe is a deeply influential, vendor-neutral, purely volunteer, non-profit open source community consortium in the domestic and international open source community. We are focused on open source governance, international alignment, community development, and open source projects. COSCon, our annual open source event, has focused on these four cores along the way.
With its unique positioning and growing influence, CosCon is attracting more and more support from top companies and international foundations. In addition to attracting different users across enterprises and project communities, COSCon is also focused on attracting the attention and participation of big open source developers, contributors and committers from home and abroad and their communities.
This year, our theme is "Open the World", because we want to: Open against Close, Connection against Broken, Public Good against Bad News!
We hope to heal the world with the technology ,methods and power of open source.
The conference will be mainly online, and all presentations will be pre-recorded on video. In order to enhance your experience, the organizing committee is actively exploring a more interactive and participatory Metaverse conference format. At the same time, there are already venues in Chengdu, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing and other cities as offline branch venues (with more and more being added) for speakers, invited guests and conference volunteers in these cities to conduct interactions and interviews, roundtable meetings, KOL gatherings, and community events. Speaker, invited guests and conference volunteers from the remaining cities can choose to attend the gathering online or in person.
If you have volunteers from other cities who would like to be a COSCon'22 city chapter producer in your city, please raise your hand to host (please fill out the COSCon'22 Community Partner Call).
Kaiyuanshe, founded in 2014, is a volunteer-driven open source community formed under the principles of Contribution, Consensus, and Co-governance. We uphold vendor neutrality, public interest, and non-profit values, with a vision to root in China and contribute globally, advancing open source as a way of life in the new era. Our mission focuses on open source governance, international alignment, community development, and project incubation, aiming to co-create a healthy and sustainable open source ecosystem.
Kaiyuanshe actively collaborates with open source–supporting communities, universities, enterprises, and relevant government bodies. It is also the first China-based member of the Open Source Initiative (OSI), the global authority for open source license certification.
Since 2016, we have hosted the China Open Source Conference (COSCon) annually, continuously published the China Open Source Annual Report, and co-launched initiatives such as the China Open Source Pioneer List and the China Open Source Power List, building significant influence both domestically and internationally.
