Invitation

The Pacific Polymer Conference (PPC) was initiated by the Pacific Polymer Federation (PPF) in 1989. Since then, it has been organized every two years in different member countries. The aim of the conference is to bring together polymer scientists from the Pacific region and other parts of the world to discuss and exchange the advancement in polymer science and engineering. The latest three conferences have been held successfully in Jeju (2011), Kaohsiung (2013) and Maui (2015). The 15th Pacific Polymer Conference (PPC-15) will be organized by the Polymer Division, Chinese Chemical Society (PDCCS) and PPF, and will take place from December 10 (Sunday) to 14 (Thursday), 2017, Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, China.

It is my great pleasure to invite you to PPC-15. Our PDCCS successfully organized PPC-6 in 1999 at Guangzhou, China. Eighteen years have passed since PPC-6, and polymer science, engineering, and industry have been developed greatly. Our PDCCS has also shown a remarkable growth with more than 10,000 members. The National Polymer Congress organized by PDCCS every two years has more than 3,000 participants. More importantly, we now have many active young polymer scientists who are doing excellent researches on polymer science as well as interdisciplinary areas related to nano-technology, electronic materials, biomedical polymers, etc.

PPC-15 will cover all aspects of polymer science and engineering. A special session “Macromolecules 50 years symposium” will be arranged to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Macromolecules. The conference will be a good chance for the participants to discuss the recent progress in polymer science and engineering, and future perspectives on new emerging advanced materials. This conference will also provide a good opportunity for the young polymer scientists to gather together and form a network in the Pacific basin for the future collaboration.
