China's New Normal, World's New Opportunities

As world economic growth remains weak, substantial risks are hovering over China, as well as other economies of all sizes. These include persistent weakness in aggregate demand in developed economies and lackluster economic activities from developing countries. How will China cope with these challenges and what are the new bright spots for the Chinese economy?

Organized by the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (Chicago Booth) Beijing Alumni Club, the Chicago Booth Greater China Forum provides a platform for the world’s top minds to discuss tough economic questions and share wisdom. The Forum will bring together many of the foremost economics experts and industry leaders to discuss the imminent issues regarding China’s economic growth. By combining both global perspectives and local market know-how, these leaders will generate forward-looking thought leadership and practical recommendations.

The University of Chicago (UChicago), established in 1890, is one of the most renowned research universities in the world, and one of the most authoritative research centers for global economics. UChicago is home for more than 40% of the Nobel laureates in economic sciences, as well as many academic scholars of humanities and sociology. Equally impressive, Chicago Booth has topped many rankings of the world’s best MBA educational programs since its inception in 1898. This institution has continuously produced path-breaking ideas with lasting impact on the theory and practice of management, while also training generations of leaders.
