On July 1, 2006, Robert J. Zimmer became the 13th President of the University of Chicago. Prior to his appointment as President, Zimmer was a University of Chicago faculty member and administrator for more than two decades specializing in the mathematical fields of geometry, particularly ergodic theory, Lie groups, and differential geometry. As a University of Chicago administrator, Zimmer served as Chairman of the Mathematics Department, Deputy Provost, and Vice President for Research and for Argonne National Laboratory. He also served as Provost at Brown University from 2002-2006, returning to Chicago in 2006 to become President of the University. As President of the University, he serves as Chair of the Board of Governors of Argonne National Laboratory; Chair of the Board of Directors of Fermi Research Alliance LLC, the operator of Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory; and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Marine Biological Laboratory. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was a member of the National Science Board, the governing body of the National Science Foundation, from 2011 to 2016 and also served on the President’s Committee on the National Medal of Science from 2008 to 2010. President Zimmer is the author of two books, Ergodic Theory and Semisimple Groups (1984) and Essential Results of Functional Analysis (1990), and more than 80 mathematical research articles. He served on the Board of Mathematical Sciences of the National Research Council from 1992 to 1995, and was on the executive committee from 1993 to 1995. Zimmer held the title of Max Mason Distinguished Service Professor of Mathematics at Chicago before leaving for Brown, where he was the Ford Foundation Professor of Mathematics in addition to being Provost. President Zimmer earned his A.B., summa cum laude, from Brandeis University in 1968 and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Harvard University in 1975. He has honorary degrees from Tsinghua University and Colby College. He joined the Chicago faculty as an L.E. Dickson Instructor of Mathematics in 1977. He was also on the faculty of the U.S. Naval Academy from 1975 to 1977 and has held visiting positions at Harvard University and at institutions in Israel, France, Australia, Switzerland, and Italy.

Madhav Rajan joined the Chicago Booth faculty on July 1, 2017, as Dean and George Pratt Shultz Professor of Accounting. His primary area of research interest is the economics-based analysis of management accounting issues, especially as they relate to the choice of internal control and performance systems in firms. He has carried out analytical, empirical, and field-based research on the role of information in incentive contracting, the value of nonfinancial and subjective performance measures, and the structural properties and usefulness of common financial ratios. Before joining Booth, Rajan spent 16 years on the faculty of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business where he was the Robert K. Jaedicke Professor of Accounting, with a courtesy appointment in the Law School. He served as senior associate dean for academic affairs from 2010-2016, overseeing the school’s MBA program. From 2002-2010, he was area coordinator for the accounting faculty group. Previously, he served on the faculty at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, from 1990-2001. While at Stanford, Rajan received the Robert T. Davis Award for Lifetime Achievement and Service (2017), and the Notable Contribution to Management Accounting Literature Award (2004). He also was the recipient of the David W. Hauck Award for Outstanding Teaching at Wharton (2000) and the Alexander Henderson Award for Excellence in Economic Theory (1990). Rajan has served as editor of The Accounting Review, as well as Associate Editor for both the Accounting and Operations areas for Management Science. He has twice been a plenary speaker at the AAA Management Accounting Conference. He is coauthor of Cost Accounting: A Managerial Emphasis, whose 16th edition was published by Pearson Prentice Hall in January 2017. He is also coauthor of Managerial Accounting, whose first edition was published by Pearson in January 2013. He is a Director of Cavium, Inc. and iShares, Inc. and a Trustee of the iShares Trust. Rajan received his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Madras, India, and an MS in Accounting, an MS in Industrial Administration, and a PhD in Accounting from Carnegie Mellon University.

Raghuram Rajan is the Katherine Dusak Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at Chicago Booth. He was the 23rd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India between September 2013 and September 2016. Between 2003 and 2006, Dr. Rajan was the Chief Economist and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund. Dr. Rajan’s research interests are in banking, corporate finance, and economic development, especially the role finance plays in it. He co-authored Saving Capitalism from the Capitalists with Luigi Zingales in 2003. He then wrote Fault Lines: How Hidden Fractures Still Threaten the World Economy, for which he was awarded the Financial Times-Goldman Sachs prize for best business book in 2010. Dr. Rajan is a member of the Group of Thirty. He was the President of the American Finance Association in 2011 and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In January 2003, the American Finance Association awarded Dr. Rajan the inaugural Fischer Black Prize for the best finance researcher under the age of 40. The other awards he has received include the Infosys prize for the Economic Sciences in 2012, the Deutsche Bank Prize for Financial Economics in 2013, Euromoney Central Banker Governor of the Year 2014, and Banker Magazine (FT Group) Central Bank Governor of the Year 2016.

Mr. Jianqing Jiang has worked in financial industry for more than 30 years. He is currently Chairman of SINO-CEEF Holding Company (SINO-CEE Fund) and of SINO-CEEF Capital Management Company. Mr.Jiang formerly served as ICBC Chairman of Board of Directors and Executive Director. Under his leadership, ICBC completed a record-sized A+H share listing in Shanghai and Hong Kong. He served as ICBC President from February 2000 to October 2005, Senior Executive Vice President from June 1999 to February 2000, and President of ICBC Shanghai Branch from June 1997 to June 1999. Mr. Jiang joined ICBC in 1984. Mr. Jiang graduated from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in 1984, and then received a Master’s degree in Engineering in 1990 and a Doctorate degree in Management in 1999 from Shanghai Jiaotong University. Mr. Jiang is, on a part-time basis, Doctoral Supervisor of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), President of CEIBS Lujiazui Institute of International Finance, and Chairman of Shanghai Finance Institute (SFI).

Mr. Liuping Xu is the Chairman of Board of Directors and Secretary of CPC Standing Committee at China FAW Group. Prior to joining FAW Group, Mr. Xu was the General Manager at China South Industries Group Corp. as well as the President of Chang’an Automobile Group. Mr. Xu led the strategic restructuring efforts at Chang’an Automobile Group. Thanks to Mr. Xu’s visionary thinking, Chang’an Group enjoyed a period of rapid growth. Mr. Xu joined China South Industries Group Corp. in 2000 and has a diverse range of experiences in engineering, R&D and general management. Mr. Xu holds a Bachelor’s degree from Jiangsu Polytechnic University and a Masters in Engineering from Beijing University of Technology.

James Jianzhang Liang is the co-founder and Executive Chairman of the Board of Ctrip.com International, Ltd. (NASDAQ: CTRP), the largest online travel company in China. Mr. Liang co-founded Ctrip in 1999 with three partners. He has served as a member of the board of directors since Ctrip’s inception and served as Chairman of the Board from August 2003. Mr. Liang also served as Chief Executive Officer from 2000 to January 2006 and from March 2013 to November 2016. Prior to Ctrip, Mr. Liang held a number of technical and managerial positions with Oracle Corporation from 1991 to 1999 in the United States and China, including the head of the ERP consulting division of Oracle China from 1997 to 1999. Mr. Liang is also a research professor in Economics at Peking University. He received a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University in 2011 and received his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology. He also attended the “China Gifted Youth Class” at Fudan University.

Guofeng Sun is now the Director General of the Research Institute of People’s Bank of China. He holds a PhD degree in Economics from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Dr. Sun is currently a visiting professor of Princeton University, professor at People’s Bank of China, a part-time professor and PhD tutor at the Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, University of International Business and Economics and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, and the vice president of Banking Accounting Society of China, founding member and academic committee member of China Financial Forum(CFF), member of China Finance 40 Forum(CF40). Guofeng Sun graduated from the Graduate School of the People's Bank of China in 1996, then worked in the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Department, where he served as Deputy Director of Open Market Operations, Director of Foreign Exchange Operations, and subsequently Deputy Director General of Monetary Policy Department, primarily engaged in the establishment of the inter-bank bond market, the development of China's money market, the launching of open market operations, the reform of RMB exchange rate regime, innovating monetary policy tools, and transformation of monetary policy framework. During 2003 to 2004, he was invited to do research as a visiting scholar at Stanford University. Dr. Sun has held the office of Director General of the Research Institute of People’s Bank of China since 2016. Guofeng Sun has for more than 20 years studied topics such as credit money theory, monetary policy, exchange rate policy and financial markets. He is the author of 2 english books Reforms in China’s Monetary Policy (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015); Financial Reforms in Modern China (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015）and 1 Chinese book China‘s Financial Reform-Through Eyes of a Front-bencher (China Economic Press, 2012) and more than 70 academic papers published in academic journals including Social Sciences in China (China), Economic Research (China), Financial Research (China) and Journal of Chinese Political Science (US).

Dr. Shanwen Gao is the Chief Economist of Essence Securities CO., Ltd. and the Independent Director of China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd. He is also the Academic Committee member of China Finance 40 Forum, Council member of China Chief Economist Forum, and Council member of The Union of Finance Alumni of Peking University. Dr. Gao has been focused on following, analyzing and forecasting China macro economy trends and policy directions, by which he gains a solid foundation to dissect their potential impact on capital markets. He accumulates extensive experience in and creates independent analytic framework of China inflation formation mechanism, cyclicality of industrial capacity, and fluctuation of asset prices. His book of Logic of Economy, published in 2013, gives a comprehensive introduction of his way of thinking and analysis. That book is the finance and economics best seller in 2013. Dr. Gao received his Bachelor and Master Degree from Peking University. He obtained his PhD degree in Economics from the Graduate School of People's Bank of China (currently PBC School of Finance Tsinghua University).

Mr. Xiaodong Tang currently serves as the CEO of China AMC, one of the leading asset management companies in China with $170B USD AUM.  Before joining China AMC in August 2014, he held various positions at China Securities Regulatory  Commission  (CSRC)  including  Deputy  Director‐General  of  the  Department  of  International  Affairs  and  Department  of Fund Supervision. Before joining CSRC in 2009, Mr. Tang was the Managing Director and Head of RBS Greenwich Capital’s US corporate correlation trading and Head of ABN AMRO's US exotic credit derivatives trading.    He  is  the  Vice  Chairman  of  Asset  Management  Association  of  China(AMAC),  member  of  Abu  Dhabi  Global Market’s  Regulatory  Committee and MSCI Editorial Advisory Board, and CFA charterholder.  Mr. Tang holds an MBA degree from the University of Chicago, dual MS degrees in Physics and Computer Science from Drexel University and a BS  degree in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China  (USTC).

Previously, he was a senior executive at multinational corporations such as McKinsey, P&G, Yahoo, and Google. Wang has many years of experience in the fields of strategy consultancy, internet searching, and e-commerce. Mr. Wang holds a bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University. He also obtained a master’s degree in sociology from Columbia University and an MBA from George Washington University.

Dennis Zhu was the Managing Director with Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. Prior to joining Oaktree in 2005, Mr. Zhu was the Managing Director and Chairman of Greater China Operating Committee at JPMorgan Chase. Mr. Zhu focused on formulating and executing strategies to build JPMorgan’s Investment Banking practice and markets business in the region, developing and maintaining important business and government relationships and providing strategic advice on new businesses and transactions to the senior management of JPMorgan Chase. Between 1994 and 1999 Mr. Zhu worked at Credit Suisse First Boston in the Equity Capital Markets department and as the Head of China Businesses. From 1992 to 1994 Mr. Zhu worked at FMC Corporation’s Investment Analysis Department in Chicago. Between 1982 and 1990 Mr. Zhu was with the Ministry of Finance in China. Mr. Zheng Zhang is responsible for Lakeshore Capital’s management and fundraising. Before Lakeshore, Mr.Zhang was the founding partner of Jade Capital and he founded Chang’an Capital, a leading independent Investment Bank. He used to work in GE both in China and US as well as HP China in the management positions. He co-founded the first FOF in China, invested in famous PE/VC funds such as CDH, Hony, IDG and JD; he led DD for over 200 PE/VC funds, visited over 500 companies, interviewed thousands of partners and senior managements, and has formed profound understanding of the equity market in China. As Angel Investor, he invested over 20 companies, 6 already listed, among which Bluedon received a return of over 50 times. Mr. Zhang obtained his BS in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University and his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School.

Mr. Zhu Wei is Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Private Equity at Standard Chartered Bank. He is also a member of the bank’s Executive Leadership Team and also sits on the board of a number of SCB invested companies. Prior to joining SCB, Mr. Zhu was a senior managing director of CVC Asia Pacific and prior to that, served as a managing director at Goldman Sachs in investment banking. He also had a long standing career in management consulting and served as China head of A.T. Kearney and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. He has nearly 30 years of combined experiences in private equity, investment banking, management consulting and industrial management primarily in Greater China and Asia. Mr. Zhu graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor degree in Foreign Service. He also received his MBA from the University of Chicago.

Mr Wei CAI is currently a partner with FountainVest Partners, a private equity firm focusing on investment opportunities in Greater China region. The fund currently manages assets over US$4.6 billion. Before joining FountainVest Partners in 2015, Wei was an investment banker for over 20 years in US and Asia. He was Vice Chairman of Asia Investment Banking and Co-head of China Investment Banking with UBS from 2010 to 2015, leading one of the top investment banking franchises in China. Before that, he was a Managing Director and Head of Asia General Industrials Group with Morgan Stanley. Wei received his LLB degree from Fudan University in Shanghai, and his joint MBA/MA from Booth School of Business and Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago.

Jeff Lin is the Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Country Garden. Prior to joining Country Garden, Mr. Lin held senior executive positions in various international consultancies and corporations, including Boston Consulting Group, Booz Allen Hamilton, Roland Berger, OC&C Strategy Consultants and Strategic Bang Group. Prior to these, Mr. Lin was assistant brand manager at Procter &Gamble (USA and Taiwan). Mr. Lin has more than 20 years of experience in investment and strategy consulting. He provided investment and strategy consulting services to more than twenty Forbes 500 corporations and a number of VC/PE funds. Mr. Chou has over 22 years of experience in international finance and direct investment, including 17 years focused on the Asian market. He is currently overseeing Goldman Sachs’ direct investment effort in Greater China. In his current role, Mr. Chou has deployed capital covering asset classes spanning across private equities, structured financing (mezz loans/straight debt with equity upside), real estate development projects as well as non-performing loans acquisitions. Mr. Chou also sits on Global Special Situations Group’s Investment Committee and has a wide-ranging experience pertaining to Goldman’s global investment efforts. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 2000, Mr. Chou worked as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch & Co., both in New York as well as in Hong Kong. At Merrill Lynch, Mr. Chou specialized in areas of mergers and acquisitions where he worked on numerous mergers including the landmark transaction between the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Futures Exchange in 1999. Prior to his tenure at Merrill Lynch, Mr. Chou started his career with Oracle Corporation in the US where he worked as a project leader at Oracle’s Professional Services Group from 1990 to 1994. Mr. Chou holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago, an MS in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College and a BS in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester.

Mr. Gan has been a Managing Partner and member of the investment committee of Qiming Venture Partners since 2006. Mr. Gan was ranked #30 globally by Forbes Magazine’s Midas List in 2017 and has been named a top ten venture capitalist in China by multiple magazines and institutions including the Forbes China, ChinaVenture, CBN Weekly several years in the row. His successful investments include Meitu Inc. (1357.HK), Ctrip.com International Limited (CTRP.Nasdaq, a director since 2001), Dianping.com (merged into China Internet Plus Holding), Jiayuan.com, Taomee, ATL and PPS Inc. (acquired by Baidu). Previously, Mr. Gan spent five years at The Carlyle Group and was a Director and founding member of Carlyle’s Asian venture fund. Mr. Gan obtained his BBA from the University of Iowa and his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a member of the Chicago Booth’ Global Advisory Board.

Mr. Warren Wang is the President of Boston Scientific Corporation for North Asia, responsible for the company’s business operations and development in the region. He is also the Asia Pacific Chairman of Boston Scientific’s Urology/Pelvic Health Council. Warren joined Boston Scientific in 2012 as the Vice President and Managing Director for China, and was appointed Vice President and Managing Director for Greater China in November 2014, responsible for business operations in mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Warren joined the Johnson & Johnson Management Trainee Program in 2001. In 2006, he was promoted to head of Johnson & Johnson's DePuy orthopedics and neuro-sciences business, and became a board member of Johnson & Johnson Medical China. He was promoted again to Vice President of Johnson & Johnson Medical China in January 2010 and General Manager of the Johnson & Johnson orthopedics business unit in February 2012. Warren earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing and Finance from the University of Chicago.

Lieming Ding is the chairman and CEO of Betta Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd with many other titles: distinguished expert of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Deputy of the 12th National Peoples’ Congress, key member of Chinese National Key Special Program of Innovative Drugs, and Chairman of China Pharmaceutical Innovation and Research Development Association (PhIRDA). Lieming Ding came back to China at the middle of 2002 to start up Betta Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd, a company focusing on research and development of new drugs. In August 2011, Betta Pharmaceutical launched Icotinib (Conmana), the first home-made drug in China for targeted therapy of non-small cell lung cancer, which is the milestone for Chinese anticancer industry. In 2012 and 2014, the WIPO and SIPO of China issued Gold award to Icotinib for its two invention patents. Icotinib won the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2016, which is the first time that the chemical and pharmaceutical industry won the prize. In the same year, Icotinib also won the China Industry Award, the top accolade of industry sector. To date, Icotinib has the total sales revenue of over 3.4 billion RMB and has benefited more than 100,000 patients.

Dr. Lana Hu obtained her medical degree from Beijing University Medical School. After graduation, she went to Medical College of Ohio to pursue a Ph.D degree in medical science, particularly in cancer research . Due to her strong interest in business, after Ph.D. study, Dr. Hu earned her MBA degree at University of Michigan Business School. She joined JPMorgan Investment Banking Division in 2002 when she completed her MBA program. At JPMorgan, Dr. Hu was involved in many transactions including M&A advisory, private placement and other public equity deals. Dr. Hu founded Amcare Healthcare Group, and took the role of CEO since then.

Wan Yiqing is the Deputy CEO of China Life Investment Holding Company Limited and also serves as the CEO of China Life Private Equity Investment Company, the alternative asset management arms of the largest insurer in China. Mr. Wan is directly responsible for managing China Life’s onshore and offshore private equity investments, and a standalone healthcare investment business, with collective assets of over RMB 60 billion. Previously, Mr. Wan served as the founding General Manager of China Life’s Private Equity Investment Department, and was responsible for launching the China Life Healthcare Investment Fund with over RMB 12 billion commitment. This Fund has since invested in WuXi AppTec, Mindray, Innovant Biologics, etc. Mr. Wan received his M.A. degree in International Economics from Nankai University in 1997 and an M.S. degree in Computer Science in 2000 from West Virginia University, USA.

Mr. Zhang Xiaochun was graduated from Dongbei University of Finance & Economics. Since 2000, he has dedicated to the Internet industry. In 2010, he assisted Mr. Liao Jieyuan in founding the Guahao.com (WeDoctor Group) as a co-founder. In his career, Mr.Zhang has been the CEO of Galaxy Internet TV and the general manager of New Media Company of China National Radio.

Mr. Adam Jigang Sun is currently the Founding Partner of Ocean Pine Capital, a healthcare-focused private equity fund based in Beijing, China. From September 2011 until July 2016, he has served as the chief financial officer and chief investment officer of Concord Medical Services (NYSE: CCM)，the operator of cancer hospitals and the largest network of radiotherapy and diagnostic imaging centers in China, USA and Singapore. He has served as the Board Chairman of MD Anderson Proton Center, which CCM acquired the controlling ownership in 2012. He has accumulated rich experience in the healthcare sector, especially in cross-border investment and acquisitions. Prior to joining Concord Medical Services, Mr. Sun was the chief financial officer of a subsidiary of Asia Pacific Medical Group from January to September 2011. He started his professional career in the USA with AT Kearney, the management consulting company in Chicago in 1998. Afterwards, he worked at Universal Studios in the function of Business development from 2001 to 2004. From 2004 to 2008, he has founded IA Exchange, Inc., a financial advisory firm to help Chinese companies seeking financing in the USA. Mr. Sun received his MBA degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1998 and his bachelor of arts degree in English from China Foreign Affairs College in 1990.

Jerry He is the CEO & director of Bright Scholar Education Group, a NYSE listed education company focusing on K12 education with a market cap of approx. 1.5 billion USD. Mr. Lau has extensive experience in PE investments and asset management across the globe, including the acquisition of the Singapore Raffles Hotels Group, acquisition and privatization of the Fairmont Hotel Group in Canada. Before joining Colony in 2005, Mr. Lau was a VP in Investor Asia. Prior to that he was a consultant with Bain and Company. Mr. Yu is founder and CEO of Benlai.com, the leading online grocery in China. Before founding Benlai in 2012, he had extensive experience in media industry and held several high-profile posts, including Vice President of NetEase, Key funding members and CEO of Beijing News, the joint initiative between Southern Metropolis Daily and Guang Ming Daily, as well as CEO and one of the key funding members of Southern Metropolis Daily, one of the most influential newspaper in China. She has resolved mothers shopping anxiety, subconsciously changed the Chinese retail industry, especially the consumption habits of the maternal and infant sector which last for the past 20 years. Meanwhile, she creates a miracle of China's maternal and infant e-commerce: in just 3 years time, she has lead Mia from a unknown-to-others company to a 500 million GMV business and the business. Mr. Mingming Huang, Founding Partner at Future Capital Discovery Fund, has built a reputation as a successful serial entrepreneur and active angel investor, with more than 20 years operational experience in both TMT and industrial sectors. He was the founder of Z.com, Kanbox Inc., 265.com and Flashget, and had been Director of 265.com since June 2006, Director of Baitai Media since September 2005, and Director of Cheshi.com since September 2006. He served as Independent Non-executive Director of Kingsoft Corporation Limited from June, 2007 to July, 2011. He had once worked with Hewlett-Packard, Siebel CRM Systems, Inc. and PeopleSoft, Inc. As an active angel investor, Mr. Huang has made successful investments in a number of start-up companies, such as Autohome Inc. and Manyougu Information Technology.
