Industrial Applications of LS-DYNA Advanced FEM/Meshfree/Particle Methods

Objectives:
Guided by industrial applications, this class introduces the fundamentals, LS-DYNA keywords and engineering examples of advanced FEM, meshfree and particle methods such as adaptive FEM, Element Free Galerkin (EFG), adaptive EFG, Smoothed Particle Galerkin (SPG) and Fluid Particle Galerkin (FPG). The applications include large deformation analysis of metal and fiber-reinforced plastic, coupled thermomechanical problems, material failure analysis of ductile, brittle and composite materials, and modeling of fluid-structure interaction in some special manufacturing processes. Plenty of examples and keyword explanations will be provided in the class such that students will master and use these numerical methods skillfully.
