Dr. William primary research areas are focused on defining and developing cutting edge research at high-rates of strain and shock loading. In December 2014, Dr. William was founder then 1st Chair of ‘Shock Wave and Extreme Conditions’ group of the Institute of Physics. A focus for researchers in his field, organised international conferences, workshops, placements and net-working events as well as lectures. He developed the PETER (Pressure, Energy, Temperature and Extreme Rates) conference series, annual conference receiving support from the IOP, Los Alamos, CEA (France). (Group Founded Dec 2014). |

Newest progress of ultra-high speed imaging applied to detonation physics and Condensed Matter Physics Prof. Li Jingzhen, supervisor of a Ph.D. student, Vice President of Committee for Optical Testing of COS and Vice President of Committee for High Speed Imaging and Photonics of COS, graduated from Tsinghua University, and from post graduate school, Academia Sinica, and transferred from Xian Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Academia Sinica, to Shenzhen University. He has been studying high speed imaging and photonics for a long time. Now, his main research interests involve in some kinds of extremely-high speed imaging with tubeless, rotating mirror cameras, especially, all-optical imaging with atom-time scale. So far he has published more than 200 papers and 10 books about optics, laser and high speed imaging, and won six national awards and twelve provincial awards. |

He graduated from Annamalai University, India specializing Manufacturing Engineering. He acquainted himself in the field of ‘Metal Joining Technology’ and has carried out his under graduate project in ‘Explosive welding. During his graduate studies he did an extensive project in joining of pressure vessel steels incorporating fracture mechanics concept. He was awarded with a Project Fellowship for 4 years funded by Armamament Research Board - Ministry of Defence- Defence Research Development Organization (DRDO) -Govt. of .India (for Doctoral studies) at the Centre for Materials Joining and Research (CEMAJOR), Department of Manufacturing Engineering, Annamalai University, Tamilnadu, India. He is also qualified ‘International Welding Engineer’ as certified by International Institute of welding and has experience in joining of armour steels. He is currently the editorial board member in Defence Technology and was one of the guest editors in two Special issues on Metal joining and Defence Manufacturing Technology respectively. |
