I. The Development and Progress of Pain Medicine in China

Director of the Pain Department of the China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Director of the National Pain Clinic Research Center, President of Chinese Medical Doctor Association Pain Doctor Branch, Director of the Pain Committee of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, and President of the Aged Pain Disease Branch of the China Association of Geriatric Research. Former director of the Chinese Medical Association Pain Medicine Branch, vice chief editor of China Journal of Pain Medicine, Chief Editor of Practical Pain Medicine Journal, Doctoral Supervisor, Visiting Professor of the State University of New York, Deputy Director of National Engineering Laboratory of Neuromodulation Technology, Tsinghua University. In China, he has pioneered new technologies such as “spinal cord stimulation” and “central target-controlled analgesia”; he has hosted and carried out numerous minimally invasive neurological interventional analgesia techniques, including ultrasound-guided nerve block, nerve radiofrequency, epidural endoscopy, spinal endoscopy, transcranial magnetic stimulation, sensory quantitative measurement, etc.; he presided over the establishment of the national pain diagnosis and treatment technical service price project, presided over the establishment of the domestic pain department title qualification examination, led the development of the pain clinical practice technical specifications, has done a lot of groundbreaking and basic work for the development of the Chinese pain discipline. He has hosted many influential international and domestic large-scale academic conferences and participated in many national natural science fund projects. He is currently chairing the clinical research project of the national key research and development program "R&D of implantable spinal cord stimulators". He has published more than 100 academic papers in domestic and foreign journals, and published 10 monographs. The Pain Science which he co-edited with Academician Han Jisheng won the third China Publishing Government Award. He has won the American Pain Society Outstanding Contribution Award, De Yi Shuang Xin "People's Good Doctor" Award, and Honor Life · 2016 Glory Doctor - Science Influence Award.
II. Cancer Pain Diagnosis and Treatment: Ten Years Review
Duanqi Liu
He has been a doctor for more than 40 years. He excelled in medical treatment of tumor, especially for the treatment of digestive tumor and minimally invasive surgery of tumor under gastrointestinal endoscopy. Since the early 1990s, attention has been paid to the analgesic treatment of cancer patients and the palliative treatment of patients with advanced cancer. He is one of the well-known experts and leaders in this field in China. He advocates the use of humanistic concepts to comprehensively relieve palliative care based on pain relief for advanced patients, oppose over-treatment and under-treatment; advocate overcoming concerns for the use of timely and adequate opioids for cancer patients, and resolutely oppose the excessive opioids use. To this end, he was commissioned by the higher authorities to hold several national, military and Beijing study classes, participate in consultations, prepare teaching materials, and participate in the development of various guidelines for pain relief; over a decade, he has held hundreds of lectures, and has great influence in the industry.

Member of the editorial board of the China Journal of Pain Medicine and the Practical Pain Medicine Journal. He engaged in clinical acute and chronic pain treatment for more than 20 years, and is good at dealing with various clinical problems. He has in-depth research and unique diagnosis and treatment in neuropathological pain, cancer pain, minimally invasive treatment of the spine, and has achieved good results. He has published more than 20 articles and presided over many subjects.
